Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since 1994
What is your primary product or service?
InData Group is made of three divisions: video networking products and services, book publishing and Internet commerce which includes downloadable audio and video software as well as inventory software specifically designed for collectors of books, wine, art, and household collectables.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
InData Group started as a communications contractor to local, state and federal governments, specializing in computer networks that among traditional tasks also provide on-demand streaming audio and video. Our networks can be found at Stafford Creek Correctional Center, Ft. Lewis, Chief Leschi School, Paccar and many schools across the Northwest.
Developments in technologies and government budgeting prompted InData to migrate into Internet commerce, book publishing and other communications solutions to expand our customer base.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
For over a decade, we have been the sole Northwest distributor of Dynacom / Safari video distribution products, a baseband approach to video distribution over CAT5 infrastructures. This higher resolution, more dependable answer to on-demand video requires greater engineering and design than others to accomplish more cost effective results.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our services are not improved by brick and mortar storefronts but by an overall focus on improving support and reductions in cost. We find Olympia to be a more central location to service Western Washington as well as the needs of Washington State government.
