The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) is a non-profit organization that brings together the best of internationally renowned cancer care institutions- Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. The SCCA’s main purposes are to provide first-rate patient care and support the conduct of cancer research. Bone marrow transplantation was pioneered at our parent organization, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and Dr. E. Donnall Thomas won the 1990 Nobel Prize for Medicine for his breakthrough work on transplantation.
