Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We've been in business for over 12 years!
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary services are corporate team building events and hands-on cooking parties.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was working as a marketing executive at Williams-Sonoma Inc. when I made the life-changing decision to pursue my culinary passion and feed my entrepreneurial spirit. I fulfilled my dream of attending Tante Marie’s professional cooking school in San Francisco. At the end of the program, I was asked to lead a culinary team building event for a group of rowdy attorneys and the event was a huge success. At the end of the night, the partner asked if I would consider staging a cooking event in his home for 40 international businessmen and I jumped at the opportunity. Many had never cooked in their lives, let alone from recipes in their non-native language. Within minutes, the noise level went from 0 to 10. Two weeks after the event, the host contacted me to say the party was the highlight of their 2-week stay in San Francisco. I knew that I had a great concept – building teamwork and camaraderie through the universal language of food. Since pioneering the mobile and in-home cooking party concept, culinary team building has blossomed as a nationwide industry.
